Scheduling Conflict Forces VP Kyle To Step Down
By Michael Walsh
SGA Vice President Christopher Kyle announced his resignation at Wednesday’s Student Government Assocation meeting due to scheduling conflicts in the spring 2011 semester.
“I am unfortunately going to be resigning,” said Kyle. “Next semester my schedule will not allow me to be on the senate.”
In his vice president’s report, Kyle thanked the senate and expressed how much he enjoyed working with them.
“It’s been great working with you all this semester,” added Kyle before wishing the senate the best of luck next semester.
The senate responded with a round of applause for Kyle.
According to SGA President Matt Vekakis an interim vice president will be chosen through a nomination and voting method, much like committee chairs are selected. The elected person will hold the title of interim vice president and will serve for the spring 2011 semester. It is likely that a replacement is found at the first meeting of next semester.
As usual, elections for a new vice president will be held at the end of the spring semester along with elections for president and the senate in general.
Wednesday’s meeting was the last meeting of the semester.
