Central Connecticut’s Communication Department has issued over 50 invitations to communication majors to join the Lambda Pi Eta, or LPH, Tau Mu chapter in an induction ceremony into the National Honor Society.

Inductees and their families are invited to the event taking place on April 4 at 6 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Connecticut Room.

Those who qualify for membership must have completed a minimum of 12 hours of communication courses and have earned an overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.25 for all communication studies courses. The student must also be in good academic as well.

Communications Specialist at The Mark Twain House and former editor at the Hartford Courant Donna Larcen will be joining the ceremony as a guest speaker.  A performance by one of CCSU’s acapella groups and a buffet dinner will follow the induction ceremony, which will be led by Kaylee Crockett, this year’s LPH Tau Mu Chapter’s president and Dr. Chris Pudlinski, chair of the CCSU Communication Department.

The event, which is being coordinated by students in Public and Media Relations, inducted 26 students into the honor society last year.

Each inductee will receive a graduation honor cord, certificate and pin.
