The Midway Ferris wheel stands as a focal point for the all the ride attractions at the Big E.

This past weekend concluded the two-week long “Big E” celebration with families and friends. Around 1.2 million people attended the New England event this year.

“Last weekend on Saturday we had to stop selling the tickets because it was too crowded, and we didn’t have space. People were waiting outside so they could come in,” worker John said.

People from around the nation visited the fair for its wide variety of food, games, rides and crafts.

“I am from Connecticut but come to visit Big E because they have so many different things, and my all family and I can enjoy in one shot,” resident Melissa said.

For entertainment, the Big E offers cars shows, circus rides, various parades, and multiple concerts. They also have a midway ride for children and adults. However, one of the most appealing things for spectators is the fairs large variety of festival food and assorted adult beverages. Fried cheesecake, donuts stuffed with ice cream are just some of the food options.

Children enjoy their time to spend with animals. They can touch animals and feed them. Also, camel, elephant and pony rides are huge attractions for kids.

However, this year, in particular, there has been a negative spark in the media regarding the treatment of the elephants used for entertainment purposes at the Big E.

“I saw the elephant picture and video all around the network and news; this is very sad. So, my kids are not going for any animal ride this year,” a spectator said.

In addition to the various animals held at the fair, there are numerous stands and buildings where fair-goers can purchase home goods, crafts and other homemade items.

In shopping building, they are having multiple businesses and people were spending money to buying things what they need or like.

“I just buy a small jacuzzi for my house, only for two thousand dollars. It’s very cheap, where else you can buy jacuzzi at this rate,” fair-goer Robert said.

Also, the circus tent was packed, and people were waiting outside the tent to come in. Moreover, people were whistling, clapping and make different noises to express their love about the show.

The Big E ran from September 14, 2018, to Sept. 30, 2018, at the Eastern States Exposition in Agawam, Massachusetts.
