The spring semester has started–are you dressed to impress? After the first week’s excitement is over, you might find yourself putting less effort into what you wear. If you live on campus, you know that there are only so many clothes able to fit in your drawers. Laundry is a hassle, and who has time between class, clubs, and work to shop for new outfits?
If you need to step up your style game, there is no need to travel all the way to the mall. If you have a break in between classes, check out the CCSU Bookstore for a quick outfit pick-me-up. You are probably thinking that the store consists of textbooks and some Central swag only, which is what I thought. For the most part, this is true.
However, I was pleasantly surprised when I came across a selection of scarves located at the back of the store. I chose a pink knit infinity scarf–it was love at first sight. I had been looking for a good infinity scarf for a while; one that is not too tight and can be worn inside or outside. This one fit the bill. A scarf can quickly become the focal point of an outfit. You can throw on sweats (if that’s what you feel like that day) and still look somewhat put together. It is basically the bow on top of a terribly wrapped present or, if your outfit is really fresh to begin with, the icing on the cake.
Another way to consistently look stylish is to have an awesome school bag. Even if you wake up late and are not having your finest fashion moment, you are still able to grab that perfect bag for your books. Eye-catching fabric backpacks in floral and other cool prints are a trend around campus. Even the oversized purses, not quite big enough for books, are trendy…whatever floats your boat.
If you don’t always have time to put together a great outfit, try to find accessories you can incorporate to your look–like a scarf in your favorite color, or a bag that will compliment what you normally wear.
