Stewart Seeks Fourth Term As Mayor:
New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart announced early this week that she is seeking re-election for a fourth term as the city’s mayor.
Stewart, who was elected in 2013, said in her announcement video that her vision is crystal clear. She wants to keep investing, keep building, keep leading and keep stepping forward.
She also said she is hoping to continue rebuilding a “new” New Britain by investing in the “smallest of products to massive developments,” eliminating blight and rebuilding streets.
The Republican launched a bid in 2018 for governor, though later campaigned for the lieutenant governor’s position.
Stewart will host a re-election kickoff event on Tuesday, April 23, according to the New Britain Herald. Entry is $25 per person and attendees can donate online or at the door.

Mueller Report To Be Released Thursday:
The highly anticipated Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s redacted report on the Russia investigation is set to be released to Congress and the public on Thursday, CNN reported.
Just last month, a four-page summary of Mueller’s findings was released after a 22-month investigation concluded no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The nearly 400-page report is expected to be released by Attorney General William Barr, who said that “there wasn’t sufficient evidence to prosecute an obstruction case” against Trump.
Barr, CNN reported, said he is “planning to color-code four types of redactions,” which include grand jury information, classified information, material regarding ongoing information and material that impacts peripheral third parties.
Protesters Take To The Streets Of London:
Thousands of protesters made their way to the streets of London to demand action against “the climate and ecological emergency.”
Participants are expected to “glue” or “lock” themselves to gates, benches and more, ultimately blocking major roadways.
At least 80 cities across 33 countries are expected to follow in London’s footsteps as part of a global campaign organized by the British climate organization Extinction Rebellion.
The 3,000 protesters are expected to continue their fight for the remainder of the week.
