Have you ever been planning a romantic dinner only to realize that you have no idea what wine would go well with it? Worry no more!
Never will you have to fret about picking the right wine for the right occasion. “Hello Vino” is designed to make your wine selection process as painless as possible.
When you open the app, you are greeted by a well-laid-out home page flaynting the question “Can we help you choose a wine?” It is like walking into a specialty wine store, without the social interaction.
This is followed by a variety of options including, “Wine with a Meal/Food” and “Wine by Taste Preference.”
Another feature that I really enjoyed is the category, “Wine for an occasion”. This covers everything from date night to holidays. There was also another category I liked, titled, “Wines to impress someone.” After the user picks this option, they are given options like red, white, champagne, sweet and a few others.
There is even a specific category on the homepage for wines for barbecues. It matches them with whatever food is being served, allowing for easy pairings for those users who may not know how to match wines on their own.
When the user clicks the option for “Wine with a Meal/Food” they are greeted with a whole variety of food groups that a user could match with wine. Even then, there is more than one option. Say the user is having pizza. After clicking the option for pizza, the app then asks what type of pizza the user is having, since all pizzas are not made the same.
After the user has made that selection, the app offers its suggestion for wine. This is normally just a type of wine, followed by specific sponsored suggestions. The app even tells the user how to pronounce the suggested wine variety.
There are even suggestions for users on a budget. Under the suggested brands of wine there is even a “Values under $10” option, where users can buy a decent wine for a decent value.
There is also a search option, where users can look up wine by its name. For an added fee, the user can scan wine labels to get more details about it. Another option in the search feature is the ability to pick by color of wine: red, white, or pink then by the users preferred taste (dry & fruity, semi-dry, sweet, etc.).
Yet another tab is simply labeled “wines.” This allows users to browse wine using a sort feature by date, price, range and name.
Another tab will allow users to purchase reviews of select wines for a price. Though these paid-for features may deter users from certain aspects, it is more than worth the download for food matching insight.
