The Central Connecticut State University men’s basketball team rolled to an emphatic 99-42 win against Framingham State University in Detrick Gymnasium on Monday, Nov. 13.
Playing their home opener, the Blue Devils dominated every facet of the game. Six players scored double figures, including 13 points each from seniors Kellen Amos, Jordan Jones, and Jay Rodgers.
Graduate student Allan Jeanne-Rose and senior Tre Breland added 12 points each, while junior Abdul Momoh contributed 10.
Central also dominated the boards, grabbing 53 rebounds to FSU’s 38. Sophomores Brody Limric and TJ Holloway led the way in rebounding, with six rebounds each.
Defense and rebounding were points of emphasis for head coach Patrick Sellers coming into the game.
“We wanted to defend and rebound,” Sellers said. “That’s been a big deal … The main focus we had coming into the night was our defense and our rebounding.”
Amos was all over the court, adding five assists and five rebounds to his scoring output. After the game, he emphasized offensive team chemistry.
“We’re trying to understand each other,” Amos said. “We have some new pieces, and we’re trying to mesh well. I think it was a game to get some momentum.”
The Blue Devils will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 19, in Detrick Gymnasium, when they face Manhattan College.
