When you consider how many radio, TV, and cable stations there are to choose from nowadays, you have to wonder why anyone would think that there is somehow a lack of diversity of opinion on the airwaves (and cable wires). It may have made sense when there were only three or four stations to choose from, but that’s certainly not the case today!

One place where we could really use a fairness doctrine is in newspapers and magazines. Most areas have only one or two newspapers serving them. Wouldn’t it be more fair to give Rush Limbaugh equal space in the NY Times? heh-heh

In a country where “freedom of speech” has been extended to include obscenity and nude dancing, it is beyond ironic that “freedom of the press” is interpreted so literally by some that it wouldn’t include radio and TV.

It’s refreshing to read an intelligent editorial in a college paper. Especially with professors like Paula Anderson on staff.

Like I stated in the other thread, does anyone else see the irony?

Nice editorial in support of free speech! Ironic it ran on the same day that you reported that at least one professor opposes free speech.
